If SC Judges Consider Montie 3 Sentence Fair, We Leave Them To Their Conscience! - Adu Asare

Presidential Staffer, Kojo Adu Asare has added his voice to calls on President John Dramani Mahama to exercise his discretionary power under Article 72 in the Montie FM saga.

Contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Friday, Adu Asare noted that the President, in exercising his powers to pardon the three convicts; Salifu Maase alias Mugabe, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako-Gunn, will not be undermining the Supreme Court.

Montie Contemnors Practiced "Media Terrorism" & Have Been Bitten - Ursula

Ablekuma West MP, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has counseled President John Dramani Mahama not to heed calls for him to pardon the convicted Montie contemnors.

The contemnors were sentenced to four months imprisonment each with a fine of GHC 10000 for contempt of court.

Owners of the radio station were also fined GHC 30000 in the contempt suit.

Ghana Isn't Progressing Because Of "Hypocrisy & Double Standard"!

Dela Edem, member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications team, has condemned the hypocrisy of Ghanaians.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' regarding the sentencing of the three Montie FM contemnors, Dela Edem stated emphatically that Ghana is not "progressing because of the double standard nature of all of us; Hypocrisy!”

Some sympathizers of Salifu Maase, Alistair Tahiru Nelson and Godwin Ako-Gunn are believed to be gathering some foodstuffs for the trio as they spend four months in their prison cells.

The sympathizers have apparently arranged some foodstuffs for the convicts.

The foodstuffs include some tubers of cassava, a bunch of plantain, kontomire and a fowl.

Kwamena Duncan says the election of Kofi Adams into the leadership cadre of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a "desecration of the memory of the late President John Evans Atta Mills."

Kofi Adams is the National Organizer of the ruling party and a member of President John Mahama's campaign team.

Mr. Adams reportedly attacked the compentency of the late President Mills in the run-up to the NDC's Sunyani Primary during the FONKAR/GAME .

Finance Minister, Seth Tekper presented a mid-year budget review and a supplementary budget to Parliament on Monday.

The Minister asked Parliament to approve GHC 1.8 billion to help run programmes and policies for the rest of the year.

Mr. Tekper is however optimistic the economy is rising contrary to views by opponents that it is sinking.

Simon Osei-Mensah, Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency has described the Electoral Commission (EC) and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) as "anti-Ghana", claiming their behaviour towards the organizing of this year's elections is proof of their opposition to everything good.

Montie Hearing: Contemnors Found Guilty . . . Case Adjourned To July 27

The Supreme Court has pronounced a staff of an Accra-based Montie FM, Salifu Maase alias Mugabe and two panelists guilty of the contempt suit against them.

The court presided over by Justice Sophia Akuffo found the trio guilty of scandalizing the court, defying and lowering the authority of the court and bringing it into disrepute.

Supreme Court Plays "We'll Marry Judges" Tape...Justice Baffoe Bonnie Recuses Himself

There was a loud silence and a drop of a pin could be heard when the Supreme Court played the contents of a controversial audio which has become the subject of a contempt case against a staff of an Accra based radio station Montie FM and two panelists.

Prior to the airing of the tape, lawyers for the contemnors pleaded with the court not to playback the contemptuous audios.

According to Kweku Baako, life at prison is not encouraging and so would not wish the three persons - Salifu Maase, Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako-Gunn - to end up there.
