Legon Authorities Creating A “Situation Of Inconvenience”

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, has called on authorities of the University of Ghana to reconsider their decision to restrict motorists from using the access routes to the institution.

Hon. Agyarko appealed to the University authorities to review their order for the sake of the school children at the institution's basic school.

Kofi Adams: No “Solid Research And Planning” In UG’s Decision To Restrict Vehicular Access

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams has expressed disappointment in the authorities of the University of Ghana for placing a ban on drivers that ply within the campus of the facility without customized stickers.

Kofi Adams, addressing the protracted impasse between the University authorities on one hand and motorists and parents with kids schooling at the University Basic School (UBS), located on the University’s campus on U TV's political analysis programme "Adekye Nsroma", questioned the "research faculty" of the University.

Former Minister for Information under the erstwhile Kufour government, Stephen Asamoah Boateng wants authorities of the University of Ghana to consult with appropriate State agencies in finding a lasting solution to the brouhaha over the restriction of vehicular access to campus without a sticker.

The University authorities' decision was to delimit the entry of vehicles that do not have the school's customized stickers displayed on them.

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., wants a body independent of Parliament to conduct investigations into allegations by a former Majority Leader that Members of Parliament in the country are bribe takers.

MP’s “Under School Of Trees” Gaffe… Should English Be The Only Means Of Communication In Parliament?

Recently, there has been a huge fuss about the faux pas committed by the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ahafo Ano, Gabriel Barima, who gained notoriety for his infamous ‘Tweaa’ comment and angry response to heckling at a public function.

The word "tweeaaa", which in the local parlance is used to express contempt over a person's speech, has since become popular on the air waves both locally and internationally.

And just when Ghanaians were being lured into a false belief that the DCE's gaffe would fade away, he has been dismissed from office, re-igniting discussion over the incident.

As if that is not topical enough, another issue has come up begging the question what kind of people Ghanaians elect to represent them in Parliament?

Ablakwa: Cost Of New 50 Community SHS Will Range Between GHc 5 & 6.5m Per Building

Government says it has estimated at least five million Ghana cedis to be pumped into the construction of the first batch of the new Community Day Senior High Schools.

Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who revealed this on Peace FM's Flagship programme "Kokrokoo", also disclosed that the construction of the fifty (50) new Community Day Senior High Schools will range between "5 and 6.5 million new Ghana cedis" per school.
