NDC Communicator Eric Ametor Quarmyne says it will take a miracle for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the Talensi seat.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Mr. Ametor Quarmyne stated emphatically that the Talensi Parliamentary seat belongs to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and without any shred of doubt believed his party's candidate will emerge victorious in Tuesday's upcoming by-election.
He recounted that the ruling party has settled its family issues and due to the absence of internal party squabbles, it is well-armed to win back the Talensi seat.
The NDC lost the seat for the first time in 2012 to the NPP following internal wrangling after the incumbent MP; John Tia was defeated in the primaries.
“It will take a miracle to save the NPP at Talensi tomorrow because we have settled our family matters…,” Ametor Quarmye stated.
To him, the Talensi by-election provides a rehearsal ground for both the NPP and NDC to measure their support base and further find out which party stands a greater chance to win the 2016 general elections.
“Just as the President said that tomorrow is a rehearsal for 2016, I also agree that it’s a rehearsal for 2016. Nana Addo also says tomorrow they will show the NDC that Ghanaians have rejected them. So, the Talensi constituents will be the first to reject the NDC, come 2016? We’re watching what will happen tomorrow keenly.” |
