It's An Insult To Reduce Talensi Overlord To Occultic Person - Karbo

Deputy Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo says claims that his party sought occult help from the Talensi Overlord is an affront to the dignity of the Talensi constituents.

According to him, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and those peddling falsehood to the public that the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako and his entourage went to the Talensi shrine to make supplications for the party's candidate contesting the by-election are denigrating the Overlord.

Tendana of the Talensi in the Upper East Region has general authority over the area and upholds the tradition of the place.

He offers prayers and is deemed the Overlord of the Talensi people.

During a tour to the Upper East Region, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako in the company of some NPP members paid a courtesy call on the Overlord and was made to observe their tradition by going topless before speaking to the elders of the town.

Notwithstanding this, some members of the ruling party believe the NPP went for some "occult" substance to ensure that their candidate easily sails through the Talensi by-elections.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Anthony Karbo stressed that the allegation is "a major insult on those who believe in this tradition. It’s an insult. It’s an insult to reduce a Tendana to an occultic person. And I think that the residents should see the manner in which for politics sake, we’re denigrating our own cultures, our traditions…and punish the NDC during this by-election
