This Is Not Child's Play... - Kweku Baako Fumes

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has cautioned political actors not to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court.

Discussing the Supreme Court directive to the Electoral Commission (EC) for the Commission to expunge National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card registrants from the voter's register, Kweku Baako wondered why there should be any furore over the court ruling.

According to him, it is needless for anybody to refuse to comply with the Supreme Court ruling which is the Highest Court of the land.

Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Mr. Baako told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesse that should the parties enter the elections with such attitude, they will be "sowing the landmines of litigation relative to the integrity of that process and the outcome of the process. And I believe it’s avoidable. I believe it’s needless. This is not child’s play. It’s not like someone sat in a debating club and debated, the pros and cons. They’ve gone to court; I mean that for me is the serious part.”

He added that it “will be a dangerous signal that will undermine even the authority of the Highest Court of the land and decisions that they bring in the future" should the EC fail to comply with the ruling.
