Adebayor Buys Range Rover for Funny Face

Togolese born Tottenham Hotspur footballer Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor has bought a brand new Range Rover Sport and handed it over to Ghanaian comedian Funny Face as a birthday gift, says information reaching NEWS-ONE. Details are still sketchy but Adebayor, during the Stars Soccer Fiesta held at Kumasi recently, was said to have been so impressed by the buffoonery of Funny Face and actually promised to buy the comedian any car of his choice as long as it could be bought with money. True to his words, Adebayor has reportedly given Funny Face aka ‘Swaagon Papa’ a brand new customized Range Rover Sport valued at an estimated $80,000, approximately GH¢160,000. Funny Face drives a fairly used Toyota Corolla that is always breaking down but his new car is said to be an all-black one with leather seats customized with the inscription ‘Swaagon Papa’ and it also comes with fitted-in LED screens “Before we got to Kumasi, we were waiting at the shopping mall for the rest of the players when Adebayor arrived. By then Funny Face was seated on the floor and asking someone to put some curls in his hair. “Ade seemed impressed and did not hide it. He started talking about the guy and when we got to Kumasi, Ade asked Funny Face to choose any car of his choice so he buys it for him. In fact, we thought it was a joke. When we were returning to Accra, Funny Face said he would have opted for a Range Rover but was thinking of how to maintain it,” NEWS-ONE gathered form an eyewitness. Funny Face, known in real life as Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, was said to have received the Range Rover last Wednesday as a birthday gift from Adebayor and was yet to overcome the shock. Emmanuel Adebayor is resident in Ghana and has proven to be a philanthropist who has sponsored several charity projects. He recently launched his charity foundation- Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor (SEA) with the slogan ‘Changing Lives’. The SEA primarily seeks to provide basic human necessities for deprived communities and individuals in Ghana and Africa as a whole. Source: News One

Yvonne Nelson: Most of My People in Ghana Are Kiss-Ass Artistes

Yvonne Nelson, the leggy Ghanaian actress expressed her disappointment recently with the way things are done in the Ghana industry. She virtually expressed that actors and actresses in Ghollywood are boot-lickers who do not know what they want. In her own sentiments she said; “like I said on Peace FM recently, everybody talks about discipline but then some producers always try to take advantage of artistes. Most of my people in Ghana are kiss-ass artistes. They can’t voice out because they know producers might not call them for jobs again. They just sit down and take anything that comes their way. They just have to treat us right and they would not have problems with anybody. I have shot two movies and I am not even a major producer. I am an actress trying to do this but I do know that if we treat people right, everybody goes away with a happy face. Don’t take advantage of the people you work with.” Source: Liveghanaonline.com

Parliament rejects report calling for annulment of CI 78

The report of the Subsidiary Legislation Committee of Parliament recommending the annulment of the CI 78, which is to give legal backing to the creation of some 45 new constituencies has been rejected by a majority decision. The matter was voted upon chaotic debate on the floor of the House. When it was put to a vote, the side of the House supporting the report had 56 votes, whilst 81 MPs voting for the rejection of the report. The committee after its deliberations presented a report which was laid in Parliament, Friday. The committee, championed by its chairman Kwame Osei Prempeh called on the august House to reject the report. According to the committee which is made up of both members of the Minority and Majority in Parliament, the CI 78 is still riddled with mistakes and must be withdrawn. The report of the committee stated “some existing electoral areas are excluded from the constitutional Instrument while non-existent electoral areas have been established by the C.I 78. Even though the committee has found the errors in the CI 78, it is unable to effect the necessary corrections. Effecting the changes in the Constitutional Instrument would amount to amending the Instrument which is not permitted under the law.” The committee further stated, “it is only the Sponsor, that is the Electoral Commission that can effect the changes by withdrawing the Instrument, making the corrections and laying it again in Parliament per the decision of the Supreme Court.” Notwithstanding the position of the committee, the House by a majority decision voted to reject the report calling for the annulment of CI 78. Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the Representation of the People (Parliamentary Constituencies) Instrument 2012 (C.I 78) would mature on Tuesday or Wednesday. Source: Myjoyonline.com

I am not dead; Kufuor reacts to hoax

Former President John Kufuor has dismissed a hoax suggesting he was dead. News about the purported death of the former president inundated social media networks over the week-end. But the former president has reacted to the hoax, saying he is not dead. He has been out of the country for over two weeks on international assignments. Mr Kufuor was in Nigeria on the invitation of President Goodluck Jonathan to deliver an address to commemorate the independence anniversary of the most populous West African nation. From there, he went to Switzerland and has since been in Oslo where he told Joy News “My time [to die] is not yet due.” He said it is appointed to man to die but that time is not due, insisting “I am alive and strong.” He expressed surprise at the news making headlines about his purported death and wondered why anybody will put such a story up without first confirming with family people. NACOB boss charges on Kennedy Agyapong

The Executive Director of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), Akrasi Sarpong is determined to pursue the law to the letter to ensure that NPP firebrand Kennedy Agyapong is convicted for alleging that he has been arrested with Indian hemp. The NACOB boss said Mr Agyapong was fond of making disparaging remarks about people, only to apologise surreptitiously to them. Mr Sarpong in an interview with Joy News’ Sammy Darko, Monday, accused Mr Agyapong, who is also the owner of Accra-based Oman FM, of “talking recklessly”. “This Kennedy Agyapong guy is so reckless,” he charged, “I don’t need an apology. Even if he apologizes, I have instructed my lawyers and they will deal [with him]. The matter will go to court.” He accused Kennedy Agyapong of making similar allegation against the Board Chairman of the Narcotics Control Board, Naval Capt. (rtd) Yaw Asaase Gyimah, “only for him to turn round and go back and do a settlement on the quiet”. The NACOB boss minced no words in stating that Mr Agyapong cannot match him when it comes to integrity. “When it comes to integrity, Kennedy Agyapong is nowhere near my integrity.” Source: Myjoyonline.com
