Has Prez Mahama Suddenly Become ECG MD? - Kwamena Duncan Quizzes

Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has called the bluff of President John Dramani Mahama, claiming his "one meter, one house" pledge to the residents of Abura is unrealistic.

According to him, the President has suddenly assumed the role of the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwamena Duncan believed there are some pressing needs of the people of Abura in the Central Region which must be met by the Mahama government and not providing each house with a meter.

He noted that the people have been faced with unemployment challenges and therefore need a leader that will adopt pragmatic steps to resolve their problems.

“I thought that President Mahama having this opportunity will look into the faces of the people of Central Region that we’re making pragmatic steps to address it. What he decided to do was to play the role of Managing Director of Electricity Company of Ghana.

“In any case, Electricity Company of Ghana; they don’t connect two houses to a meter. It doesn’t happen. You tell me where Electricity Company of Ghana comes to fix a meter and then in another turn, they bring another house hooked onto it . . . Already, as a policy of the Electricity Company, it is ‘one house, one meter’. Since I grew up, I have never seen two houses connected to one meter,” he said.

Kwamena Duncan urged Ghanaians to vote out the "incompetent, corrupt" Mahama administration and leave the administration of the country in the able hands of Nana Addo and his Running Mate, Dr. Bawumia.

“Has the President all of sudden become the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana? Nana Addo took the advantage; the opportunity. There is a major issue that faces the good people of this country, especially Central Region, which is unemployment and I intimated from the very beginning. Unemployed graduates have become extra burden on their parents," he stated.
