Gbese Mantse Has Vamoosed Into A Rat Hole...Must Abdicate Immediately - Baako Charges

Seasoned journalist, Abdul Kweku Baako has made a strident call on the Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte II to dethrone himself with immediate effect.

According to Kweku Baako, Nii Ayi Bonte II should honour his pledge to Ghanaians that he would abdicate his throne if Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, President-elect, wins the 2016 Presidential elections.

The Chief was very emphatic and boldly supported President John Dramani Mahama to make a second term in government, hence his vow to strip himself of his Chiefly authority and position.

Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Kweku Baako didn't mince words as he reiterated his earlier stance that chiefs who engage in partisan politics lack wisdom, and asserted that Nii Ayi Bonte II made a very "unwise" decision.

To him, Nii Ayi Bonte II has disgraced his throne and so "if I were him, I would abdicate".

Kweku Baako called for the Gbese Mantse to come out of his hiding place and face the media by granting an exclusive interview and assuring the public of his readiness to give up his powers.

The Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte II has "also vamoosed into a rat hole. Do you see the point we were making that it was unwise for Chiefs to put themselves in that partisan (politics)? They went to the extreme. Now, you sat in a public place and made noise, and pledged to abdicate…why would you make such a pledge? This is total lack of wisdom. And wisdom is a key attribute of Chiefs or Chieftaincy. It’s a requirement.

“Now you see, the Chief has been disgraced. The Chief is not hiding in a hole and when you call him; he says I’m not granting any interviews. He’s not granting interviews yet. They should drag him out of the hole and put the microphone right in front of him to talk to our hearing. Now, all the other Chiefs who are listening; do you see the wisdom in the point we were making?” Mr. Baako said.
