Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has cautioned Ghanaians not to be swayed by the choruses of "change change" being bandied about by opposition parties and vote the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into power.
According to Fred Agbenyo, "the worst form of NDC is the best of NPP".
He indicated that the NPP has nothing good to offer the people of Ghana, claiming the erstwhile Kufour administration was voted out of power due to its poor performance.
Making his submissions on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Fred Agbenyo held strongly that every achievement of the NPP pales in comparison to initiatives implemented by President John Mahama and his government.
The NPP “can’t stand in our shadows. NPP is not a replacement for NDC. The worst form of NDC is the best of NPP. They have no new ideas. They don’t have any vision. They don’t have foresight. A political party that cannot even manage its own affairs, how can we leave this great country into their hands?”
The NDC Deputy Communications Director further advanced his argument by citing some development projects undertaken under the Mahama regime.
He said the government has revived the Kumasi Shoe Factory and using the factory to create jobs as well as resource Ghanaians, particularly students and the security services.
He also alluded to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant among other social interventions, stating that the projects were started by government to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
He therefore was hopeful that President John Mahama will be given a second term to apparently continue his good works.
“Ghanaians are very discerning. They were not living in space when you were governing this country. They were not living under the sea when you were governing this country. They lived in this same society. They saw the governance you gave to me. If indeed you were doing anything too good, Ghanaians wouldn’t have voted you out of power," he stated.
