Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has expressed utter shock at the bribery allegation leveled against him by Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga.
According to him, Mahama Ayariga has been his "best friend" and so was alarmed when he heard that the carrier of the alleged bribery news was his own friend.
Hon. Muntaka appeared before the Joe Ghartey Committee to make a witness statement before the committee.
The 5-member Committee set up by Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye Jnr. has been tasked to probe and establish the truth in the matter.
Hon. Muntaka stated in no uncertain terms that "I was shocked" that the issue was being peddled around by his best friend.
He expressed distrust in his friendship with Hon. Ayariga, resulting from the bribery saga.
He reiterated that he never had any conversation with Hon. Ayariga regarding the alleged bribery neither did he play any role in the issue. |
