President Nana Akufo-Addo says his government will restore allowances to teacher trainees in the country.
The President, who was at Parliament on Tuesday to deliver his State of the Nation Address, assured teachers that his government will not renege on its word to pay their allowances because "it is in every one's interest that the school experiences a happy one for children, teachers and parents alike."
According to him, the government is committed to ensuring a quality education system that will boost the progress of the economy.
Therefore, as part of measures to revamp the education sector, "teacher training allowances will be restored. When the Minister for Finance comes to read the budget, we keep our promises . . . Mr. Speaker, there's been far too much tension in the education sector", he stated. |
