Nana Addo Must Bring His Influence To Bear By Calling For Ceasefire

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko has implored the two-time Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to bring to bear the influence he wields in the party and instill order in the party.

Speaking on Peace FM's “Kokrokoo”, Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko bemoaned the silence of Nana Addo regarding the internal bickering within the NPP.

According to him, Nana Addo should step in and “say I will not allow these things to happen."

He explained that though Nana Addo has nursed interest to contest the flagbearership for the third time, he still remains a leader in the party and therefore the onus lies on him to inculcate discipline in the NPP and ensure that the wranglings at the party’s front are brought under maximum control.

Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko also condemned the war of words between some members and elders of the party. To him, no matter the actions of the leadership, the members will always have a favourite and their voices are always louder than the leaders.

In his view, "there’s no point in selecting a flagbearer when your party gets fractured," and so urged the members and the leaders to cease fire.

He also strongly held that, even if by assumption, the National Chair and General Secretary of the party decide to manipulate the system; “the history of this party is that the party members will finally decide and only do what they deem fit for the party and themselves."

"So, what’s the matter? So, even if we’re doing it in September or whatever; what difference does it make?” he quizzed.
