How Did Gov’t Enter Into Contractual Agreement With A Security Outfit Headed By A Drug Baron?

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Kwamena Duncan has strongly called on President John Mahama to probe the circumstances leading to the arrest of the Chief Executive of SOHIN Security Service, Solomon Adelaquaye who is currently facing charges of drug trafficking in United States of America.

Addressing the issue of the drug menace on Peace FM, the NPP Communicator took with a pinch of salt, claims that government had no hand in the appointment of Sohin Security, and implored the President to ensure thorough investigations are carried out.

Analyzing the implications associated with the arrest of the Airport Security Boss by the US Anti-drug Agency, he sought clarifications on the contractual agreement between government and SOHIN Security Services.

“How did government enter into contract with this security company in the first place?...How the contract get to this company. What were the checks that were done?

“And government did not look into the background; did not do any research to find out whether the company has worked in that field before? The persons or the directors or the people who are managing it, can we trace them, look at their background and find out their track record?” he questioned.

He therefore appealed to government to “investigate this matter and get to the bottom” of it.
