Spokesperson
for the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams has expressed his thoughts about the
ongoing Presidential election petition likening it to a “pregnant
woman”.
He said during an interview on Radio Gold’s “60 minutes”
that the election petition is supposedly going nowhere as the direction
it seems to take is obvious to the parties involved.
Although not
making definite assertions about the case, he was however of a strong
view that the nation is practically making a molehill out of a mountain
because to him, the country does not need a soothsayer to predict the
outcome of the case.
Though he remained silent on which party he
claims is the pregnant woman, Kofi Adams held that the petitioners’ case
is “like a woman that is pregnant at the 7th month. We all can see the
pregnancy that the person is pregnant. We all can see where the case is
going to go…You don’t need a soothsayer. It’s so clear.”
This therefore means the Justices sitting over the case, he stated, “are only going to assist the pregnant woman to deliver…”
Addressing
the court issue as if in parables, Mr. Adams who also doubles as the
Deputy General Secretary of the ruling party averred that “it’s easier
to reverse the flow of the Volta Lake than to have what the petitioners
are seeking to do in the court.
“Not that I’m a judge but I have
listened; I have watched and I have seen the case that they have
presented there and I think that they have a mountain.” |
