Kofi
Adams, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress
(NDC), says the party should organize itself and focus on enhancing its
support base.
According to him, the party must find a way to address the concerns of members internally.
He
was very critical of the internal wrangling within the party, saying
“it is important that the party sits together and as leadership dedicate
itself into galvanizing the support base as well by reaching out to
them. By engaging with them, by letting them understand what governance
is all about and what we supposed to represent. And what we represent.”
Speaking
in an interview with Radio Gold, he also advised supporters of the
party to vote on principles but not on personalities.
“We
shouldn’t support parties because of personalities, No. But then, let’s
support parties based on some principles, some values that we all have
accepted.”
He further touted some achievements of the NDC after
21 years of existence on the Ghanaian political scene, stating that they
have “affected positively every part of this country” when “it comes to
energy; rural electrification. It comes to schools. It comes to
hospitals; healthcare provisions.” |
