The Klottey Korle constituency of the New Patriotic Party has begun intensive sensitization exercise for its constituents in preparation for the 2016 general elections.
They are diligently training members of the party from the grass roots so they wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Addressing a section of the media and members of the NPP in Accra, the constituency Chairman Nii Noi Nortey hinted of measures the new executives are undertaking to strengthen its grass roots base.
Nii Noi Nortey noted that the new batch of executives have adopted an effective approach to keep a clean sheet in the general elections, come 2016.
Outlining the measures the party is undertaking at the constituency level, he stated that the constituency will equip the members with the requisite "knowledge of the party and the knowledge of electoral processes. When they have these things, we believe that they can go out there and fight for the party, and defend the party and bring in new members to the party…Looking at our court issues; the election petition, we realized that most of our polling agents even signed where they were not supposed to sign. They made errors…"
In view of this exercise, the constituency Chairman expressed optimism about the fortunes of the NPP, come 2016.
“We’re not leaving any single stone unturned this time around. Because we’re assuring Ghanaians that they should be rest-assured that we’re working hard and with their support in 2016, we will come and wrestle power from the hands of the NDC," the Constituency Chairman told Peacefmonline.com.
