Frederick Fredua Anto, Third National Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is of the absolute conviction that the party's congress to be held this year, to elect a Presidential Candidate will be the easiest of all the elections in the annals of the party’s political history.
He claims the candidate who will emerge victor during the congress is very obvious to all the delegates and leaders, and even further held strongly that a candidate will definitely record no vote at all.
“It is clear. Everybody knows who will win the elections. Anyone who says otherwise is behaving as an ostrich. The impending election will be the easiest election ever. I’ve really followed events of the party. I was at Sunyani and in fact, the Sunyani elections were difficult. The one which will be the easiest is the election that we’re about to hold. It was the most difficult election but Adu Boahen’s own was just simple.
“This one will be the easiest for the victor to win by a landslide. Indeed, someone will poll a zero vote," he disclosed.
Touching on recent happenings within the opposition party, the former NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman bemoaned the leadership qualities of the party's National Chairman and General Secretary, claiming that their leadership style is "poor."
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Mr. Antoh told host Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview that the two leaders appear to be having some difficulty managing the party.
According to him, the internal wranglings in the party are not as a result of the widely-held notion - the Nana Akufo Addo and Alan Kyeremateng Factions- but rather lack of leadership skills and appreciation of the views of others.
“Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong’s leadership style is poor…So, the challenge is not the Alan/Akufo Addo issue. The Alan/Akufo Addo issue is now a thing of the past. Right now, there’s harmony among all parties. What’s really worrying is the management of the party at the National Headquarters,” he said. |
