Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako has called on the two flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who petitioned the leadership of the party to consider re-scheduling the primaries, to “forget and focus on their campaign at the grass root.”
According to Mr. Baako, the two aspirants, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Addai Nimo, should rather garner support from the grass root if any of them wants to emerge the flagbearer of the party, on October 18 this year.
Speaking on Peace FMs Morning Show “Kokrokoo”, Kwaku Baako expressed no faith in the proposal made by the aspirants because to him “even if they are given two more months [or] three more months, I’m telling you nothing significant will change.”
To him, none of the contestants for the flagbearer position in the party can outwit the two-time NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo- Addo.
He was optimistic Nana Addo will emerge victor in the primaries by landslide on October 18.
“I always say that there will be a landslide towards Nana Akufo-Addo. There’s no doubt about it; this is his time. The mood of the party, the spirit of the party is just tailored to favour Nana Akufo-Addo,” he posited.
He also concluded that the plea by the two aspirants to re-schedule the date for the primaries so as to help them prepare well is unfair to the delegates of the party. |
