Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has urged the party members not to neglect the suspended leaders in the party.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, affectionately called Sir John, commended the National Executive Council (NEC) and Disciplinary Committee for committing the party's General Secretary and Second National Vice Chairman to an indefinite suspension.
Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe were on Thursday, both suspended indefinitely for contravening the constitutional provisions of the NPP.
According to Sir John, it is the delight of the NPP to sanction members who flout the orders of the party.
Likening the NPP to a church, he explained that sometimes churches excommunicate members in the holistic interest of the church and so, the NPP's disciplinary action is not to sideline the suspended duo but rather for the party's collective interest.
"We should not abandon them. We should converse with them. We must show their kindness and care", he told the NPP on'Kokrokoo'.
He however hoped the two leaders would turn a new leaf as they face their discipline. |
