Head of Political Science Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Richard Amoako Baah has commended the opposition New Patriotic Party for suspending their General Secretary and Second Vice Chairman indefinitely.
The General Secretary Kwabena Agyei and Second Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe have been suspended from the party's leadership on grounds of misconduct.
The National Executive Council (NEC) has upheld the party's Disciplinary Committee to commit both to an indefinite suspension.
Mr. Amoako Baah has lauded the NPP, claiming the decision by the NEC is tough but the best for the party to survive in its journey to victory in the 2016 general elections.
According to him, "sometimes in life, you have to make tough decisions...That's exactly what they have done. Fire would have been blazing in the party if they had not done such a thing."
He however advised the suspended leaders not to harbor any grudge for the party.
To him, it is now time for them to support the party and prove their worth that they have the NPP at heart.
He also appealed to the NPP to remain focused on their goals as they uphold the party's principles.
