Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt has issued a caustic warning to Samia Nkrumah not to contest the Jomoro Parliamentary seat.
According to him, Samia Nkrumah will woefully fail to become the Member of Parliament for the Jomoro constituency should she advance her political ambition.
Mr. Pratt, speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', prayed Samia Nkrumah to heed his caution because if she refuses and moves ahead to contest in the Parliamentary elections; "she will deeply regret."
He therefore advised her to utilize her time to reflect on the circumstances that led to her defeat in the Convention People's Party (CPP) national delegates' congress that was held on Saturday.
“I beg her. Maybe her close associates cannot tell her but I beg her so much. It will affect her very seriously if she does. If I were Samia, this is not the time to run into another election. This is the time to sit down and reflect deeply on what led to her defeat. This is the time to rally behind the party and its candidate and so on . . . It is not prudent for Samia to go to Jomoro and contest. If she goes, she will deeply regret. It won't help her at all should she proceed to Jomoro. She will regret in the future," he blurted out.
He said the CPP still needs the contributions and hard work of Samia Nkrumah and so pleaded with her to concentrate on the party rather than her Parliamentary ambition.
Mr. Pratt further posited to Samia Nkrumah to rally behind the newly-elected flagbearer of the Convention People's Party (CPP) Ivor Greenstreet or else face her political retirement.
“If she wants her future in Ghanaian politics to be enhanced, she has only one option; to rally behind Greenstreet and campaign for Greenstreet. That is the only way of redeeming herself.” |
