Communications Minister Can't Even Manage Gitmo Detainees' Saga - Kwamena Duncan

Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwamena Duncan has hit back at the Communications Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah over government's press release on the former's party leader's comments regarding the Gitmo detainees.

Nana Addo, commenting on the Gitmo detainees' transfer to Ghana, accused the government of contravening Section 35 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2008 (Act 762).

Managing Editor of the Insightnewspaper, Kwesi Pratt has hinted that calls by Ghanaians and various stakeholders in the country for government to extradite the Gitmo detainees to the United States may not be heeded, claiming the US government will not permit it.

According to him, Ghana will need permission and co-operation from the US government to take the Guantanamo Bay ex-detainees back; something he thinks will be a hurdle to surmount.
