Arrest NDC Former Youth Organizer For Genocidal Remarks - BNI Charged

Atik Mohammed, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) says the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) should arrest NDC former Youth Organizer for Fomena constituency immediately.

The NDC Former Youth Organizer, Robert Owusu Tilton speaking on Kumasi-based radio station Boss FM hinted that the ruling party has amassed machetes to terrorize electorates in the 2016 elections.

The seemingly undaunted NDC activist ignored warnings from his colleagues on the panel on Boss FM that the Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Kofi Boakye will arrest him for making such comments blatantly on air.

He insisted that despite his threats that the NDC has stashed a stockpile of lethal weapons for the 2016 elections; the Regional Police Commander may have little or no authority to arrest him.

We will cut people into pieces and assign them a place with the dead with our already sharpened cutlasses… the regional police commander [Kofi Boakye] supports what I’m saying,” Robert Owusu told the host Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Tuesday.

Atik Mohammed called on the BNI and other security forces in the country to launch a thorough manhunt for the NDC Youth Organizer and ensure he faces the full rigors of the law.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Atik Mohammed stated emphatically that the comments by the NDC former Youth Organizer can potentially spark violence in the country.

He stressed that the young gentleman is inciting genocide in the country and so should be apprehended without any political interference or favour.

“The guy is threatening massacre. He’s threatening massacre. In fact, as a matter of fact; he’s threatening genocide. Such a person should not be allowed to be walking. He is a danger to society. And everybody else who thinks and hopes to act like him; those are the people that the security agencies should deal with."

He also called on the security forces to initiate strategic ways to clamp down on election violence in the country.

“Ghana has been a very peaceful and stable country for a very long time. And we’ve enjoyed the benefits of such. We will not allow people of his caliber to derail the peace that we’re enjoying in this nation," he said.
