Ghana’s Most “Dangerous Politician”?

It appears the Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah, is not only appalled by the governance of the Mahama administration but also, he wouldn’t want to dine with certain officials within the NDC government.

Addressing his concerns on Oman FM, the NDP firebrand vehemently slammed some functionaries of the ruling government for not comporting themselves well in government.

Owusu Bempah, who would not dissimulate his emotions during a panel discussion programme on the station, took a swipe at the National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describing him as a “dangerous politician” ever in the annals of Ghana’s history.

According to him, the NDC National organizer has disgraced himself as a politician and seeking to unearth the dark side of him, Owusu Bempah alluded to some unfortunate incidents that occurred in the country which were engineered by him (Yaw Boateng Gyan); a man he believed has suddenly forgotten his roots in the NDC.

He revealed that Mr. Boateng Gyan joined the ruling party under “duress” though the Rawlingses family ensured that he became a member of the party and climbed the ladder to attain his current position.

But Mr. Boateng Gyan, he elaborated, has been very ungrateful to the former President and his family and had been working under the cover of darkness to stab them in the back.

He alleged that Yaw Boateng Gyan, a year ago, sent thugs to attack members of the Friends for Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) when they expressed support for Nana Konadu who contested the late President John Evans Atta Mills during the National Congress of the governing party.

“He is the most dangerous politician Ghana has ever had…He organized some people to come and beat us (FONKAR boys) when we went to Sunyani. He sent people to threaten us with a text message. He even managed to consult a fetish priest to kill us including Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.”

“People like him, dangerous as they look. As Julius Ceaser describe them as 'let me have men about me that are fat; sleek-headed men…yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; he (Yaw Boakye Gyan) thinks too much: such men are dangerous,” Owusu Bempah said, stressing that Mr. Boateng Gyan deserves to face a ‘firing squad.’

Also, picking on the two Deputy Information Ministers who he labeled as “infantile juveniles” within government, he blamed them for the recent statement by the US Embassy in Ghana, which warned US citizens in the nation to be wary of their actions as the country awaits the verdict on the pending election case.

To him, the communiqué by the US Embassy is as a result of the actions and inactions of the Deputy Information Ministers.

“If you have infantile juveniles like Felix Ofosu Kwakye and Murtala as Ministers of Information of the Republic of Ghana, who in any given time can make a useless statement at any given time that can destroy this country; do you think the America government will sit down watching?”
