Ursula Owusu Takes On The Police Service

Ursula Owusu, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency, has sought to remind security agencies in the nation of their duties to maintain law and order in the country.

Hon. Ursula Owusu lambasted the security services, particularly the Police Service, for the unfair treatment meted out to supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and supposedly giving premium to fanatics of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Addressing her concern on Oman FM, the NPP firebrand alluded to some incidents that occurred in some areas of the country prior to last year’s general elections including her ordeal where a mob from the ruling party attacked her in the full glare of some Police personnel who refused to rescue her.

This, she noted, dents the commitment of the Police Service to effectively execute their duties.

To her, the nation can survive any danger in the aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling if the Police force revises its notes and ensures that they conduct their operations without fear or favour, stressing that “justice must not only be done, it must be seen to be done.”
