Leader and Founder of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Charles Kofi Wayo says the Bereau of National Investigations (BNI) should step in to investigate the alleged missing certificate of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the missing certificate of a high-profile personality as Nana Addo dents Ghana’s image and so, called on the National Security to take the issue up to unravel the truth.
Kofi Wayo in an interview on Radio Gold also asked President Mahama to take keen interest in the brouhaha about Nana Addo’s missing law certificate because the issue exposes the country’s integrity which he stated is at stake.
He believed if President Mahama makes an intervention, it would serve as a panacea to the perception put out in the global world.
He therefore asked the 2012 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo- Addo, whose qualification as a lawyer has been questioned by a retired Supreme Court Judge, Justice Francis Yaonasu Kpegah the period that his certificate “got missing, did you report to the Police?...In this particular case, the BNI should step in and do the investigations. That’s how you run a country. You can’t run a country on hearsay, hearsay…The law got to function. You got to move when you got to move. So, the question is what is the BNI doing?” he asked, stressing that the case “has something to do with the name of Ghana. The whole world thinks Ghanaians are fraudulent, the whole government is fraudulent, Judges are corrupt, the lawyers are corrupt. This is what’s out there, this is the reality...So, the President should ask the BNI to investigate this case and bring to the people to determine whether or not this is being done.”
