Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has expressed disappointment at the state of the Ghanaian economy.
Sharing his thoughts on the impending National Democratic Congress (NDC) scheduled to be held in Kumasi on Saturday, December 20, 2014; the seasoned journalist was despondent about the future of the economy.
According to him, "Ghana is going down and down and down."
Speaking Peace FM's Premium Morning show "Kokrokoo", Mr. Pratt believed the NDC Congress creates a better opportunity for the country to be revived.
He spoke against the political bickering and backbiting that have characterized the NDC "party politics" ahead of the Congress on Saturday.
To him, the governing party has a unique chance to revitalize the economy and so, it behooves on them to lay aside their differences after the Congress.
"The NDC Congress is a good forum for this new spirit of revivalism, new spirit of patriotism, new spirit of commitment to Ghana to begin to emerge. It is a good platform," he said.
In his conviction, the NDC does not stand a chance of winning the 2016 general elections if they are unable to organize themselves and ensure unity at the party front.
And so, until the NDC learn to come together after the Congress; they should "say bye bye to power.”
He also urged "Ghanaians whether they’re in NPP or in NDC or in CPP or whatever" to wake up and tell themselves that they won’t allow the economy "to go the way it is going any longer.” |
