Christopher Amponsah, popularly called "Senior Tough" |
From shelter to food, little is said to have been done to ensure better treatment of in-mates. On the 24th of October, 2014, Christopher Amponsah, popularly called "Senior Tough" was finally liberated from prison after spending seven years there.
Live on U TV's morning show, Adekye Nsroma, Chris narrated the bizarre treatment the in-mates have been facing. According to him, in-mates do not enjoy the luxury of three square mealS a day.
In the morning, over 500 prisoners queue with their cups and paint rubbers to scoop some porridge which they take to survive throughout the day until another opportunity comes up.
He further accused the prison matrons of using their feet to mix the cough dough for the prisoners.
He called on State authorities to address the issues in Ghana's prisons because in-mates are majorly treated as slaves.
"I refuse to be a slave in my life. Call me a Prisoner than to make me a slave in my life," he exclaimed.
