Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifa Karbo, has lauded the party's flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo for delivering a "Statesman-like" speech at the Banquet Hall on Tuesday.
Speaking at the 2nd Alhaji Aliu Mahama Memorial Lectures held at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Tuesday, Nana Addo chided the current administration for failing to safeguard the future of the nation.
According to Nana Addo, “the people of Ghana expect their government to run the affairs of the country so that the weak and vulnerable will be protected and social services are managed for the public good...our people need to have that firm assurance now, not just by words or pious declarations, but by concrete deeds.”
He challenged figures quoted by government on the cost of the Kasoa Interchange project and further advised President Mahama to re-evaluate the project cost through an open tender.

Nana Addo's statements seem to have inflamed government's passion as some top officials have since branded his comments with all sorts of adjectives.
A Depty Minister of Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu described Nana Addo's speech as a "high profile gaffe" on the Kasoa interchange.
Addressing the government's posture on the issues raised by Nana Addo, Anthony Karbo commended him (Nana Addo) for taking the government on and ensuring that he puts them on their toes.
According to him, Nana Addo's speech was timely and as such touched on salient issues affecting the economy.
“Nana Addo’s speech he gave was very Statesman-like. In fact, it was delivered in a fantastic manner. And indeed, looking at the issues Nana Addo raised, the tone of his language, the posture; was fantastic. And government has been running helter-skelter over all the things that Nana Addo has said," he asserted. |
