Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has urged the NDC leadership to register the name of the Founder and leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor in the books of the ruling party.
Delivering a speech during the party's National Executive Congress at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the former President told the party's rank and file to encourage Madam Akua Donkor to be member of the NDC.
Former President Rawlings made this appeal after Madam Akua Donkor had pledged her support for the NDC during the Congress.
The Ghana Freedom Party Leader, in a solidarity message, said the NDC was really delivering the "Better Ghana" agenda.
In an apparent swipe at Ivor Greenstreet, General Secretary of the Convention People's Party, who earlier in his solidarity speech, said "this year's x'mas is dry" and "Boys Abr3", Akua Donkor said "Boys Abr3 fri Nkrumah's time" to wit the hardship began from Nkrumah's era and did not start during the NDC's administration.
"I thank her for all the refreshing things she had to say...Maybe we should encourage her to join the NDC," President Rawlings remarked. |
