Ghana's finest broadcaster, Kwesi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) is reportedly rushed to the Police Hospital for urgent medical attention.
KKD, since December 27, 2014, has been battling with allegations of rape from a certain 19-year old lady.
The Airport Police Command arrested the astute broadcaster on Saturday night after the 19-year old lady filed a complaint at the Police station, alleging the accused had raped her in a bathroom at the African Regent Hotel.
According to Peace FM's correspondent Agya Kwabena, KKD, was arraigned before the court today, Wednesday, January 8 after being refused bail.
Lawyers for KKD petitioned the Human Rights court to seek bail for their client.
“We are seeking for the bail from the Human Rights court because the District court cannot grant our client bail.” However, KKD was said to have come to the court not in the best shape and health.
He entered the court looking very incapacitated and had difficulties with his gait. Peace FM's correspondent reported that KKD remained sombre in manner amidst acute pains in his leg.
KKD's condition is said to be deteriorating to the extent that he had to be supported by a certain fanatic of his before he could even walk up the dock.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate Court presided over by Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu has adjourned the case to Thursday, January 22, 2014. |
