Ministry Of Power?...That's Not The Solution; Can't Resolve "Dum Sor"!!! - Kwesi Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has decried the worsening erratic power supply in the country saying the current situation is killing businesses, and urged government to quickly adopt strategies that will put an end to the energy crisis.

Kwesi Pratt, who appeared lost for words because of the failure on the part of government to proffer concrete solutions to the current challenges, told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's current affairs programme "Kokrokoo" Monday, that Ghanaians are tired of the repeated assurances from the Ministries in charge of the sector and other government appointees which don't offer any hope to fix the situation.

According to him, the Ministries, particularly the newly-created Ministry of Power, only come out with statements when Ghanaians are looking out for practical solutions to the problem.

To Mr. Pratt, the way forward for government is to seek for funds to buy gas or crude oil in adequate quantities to remedy the situation.

He was however doubtful that the Ministry of Power, which was created last year by President John Mahama can resolve the unplanned and erratic power cuts.

“It won’t solve the problem. That’s not the solution. The solution is for us to find money to buy gas, to buy crude oil; that is the solution not creation of a Ministry…We’re tired,” he charged.
