NPP Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has blamed the party's National Chairman, Paul Afoko for the recent alleged financial misappropriation in the party.
The NPP Treasurer, Abankwah Yeboah and Vice National Chairman of the party, Freddy Blay were on Friday August 28, 2015 invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over allegations that the duo have diverted the party's funds inappropriately.
Though the two leaders have denied involvement in the scandal, they were however invited by the CID for interrogation.
Addressing the issue on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Ursula Owusu blamed the party's National Chairman for making a statement to the effect of the accusations.
According to her, Mr. Afoko should not have made public any statement since he chairs the party's meetings and committees; and therefore could have summoned the National Executive Council and Steering Committee of the party to thrash out the issues.
She further revealed that the issue is already being investigated by the leadership of the party, so he (Mr. Afoko) should have allowed the party machinery to do due diligence to the allegations. |
