Vice National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has rubbished claims by George Boateng who aspires to contest President John Dramani Mahama during the party's Congress.
According to him, George Boateng is nothing but an "attention seeker" and believe he would not get the endorsement of any executive in the NDC.
He told host Nana Yaw on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" that George Boateng does not stand a chance of being elected a flagbearer for the NDC to contest the 2016 Presidential elections because he has to be endorsed by at least one executive in each of the 275 constituencies for his nomination form to be authenticated.
“I think that this guy is just an attention seeker…Nobody will glorify this guy that he should present the forms that he’s picked. How is he even going to endorse his form?”
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, who doubles as Director of elections within the party, also wondered how the party delegates are going to elect George Boateng after supporting the legalization and exportation of marijuana.
George Boateng wants to contest President John Mahama and as part of his objectives to be President of the Republic of Ghana, he indicated on Okay FM that he would legalize the smoking of marijuana in the country.
But to Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, he (George Boateng) may not be a "correct person".
"...you think that we will think that you’re a correct person. You want to represent the NDC as party and then we elect you as flagbearer, you want to legalize wee which is being outlawed." |
