Former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP) James Kwabena Bomfeh has urged Abudus and Andanis at Dagbon to smoke the peace pipe.
According to him, the two rival groups should not forment trouble because of their differences.
He called on them to bury the hatchet and see themselves as a family.
“The people of Dagbon in this matter, I call on you. Being it Abudu or Andani or whatever, you are a Dagomba first and foremost…I’m begging Dagombas. Let peace reign in Dagbon. And I’m sure if they allow peace to reign, we will see the evil ones who are hiding behind disputes to make themselves profitable or to profit from it and make themselves relevant.”
James Kwabena Bomfeh's plea comes on the heels of a press conference held by the Andani family to match the Abudus boot-to-boot.
A report by the Ghanaian Times on Monday read; "At a press conference yesterday, the Andani family stated that they would marshal all force to protect and prevent anybody or group, who would attempt to occupy the palace forcibly.
Galwei Tamalgu-Naa O.S. Mahamadu, who read the speech, at the conference, said the Andanis had suffered a lot of injustice for far too long, and they would never sit aloof and have the Abudus continue with the lawlessness."
Addressing these concerns on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, the CPP guru advised both parties to expose the evil ones among them by refraining from any acts of violence.
“I cannot continue to blame the politicians who dabble in those traditional matters. The people themselves must also own up to some responsibility. If you allow yourself to be manipulated beyond a certain point, you can no longer blame somebody. Even in life, you allow yourself to be manipulated. Look at the friends around, you choose the friends around you,” he told Kwami Sefa Kayi, host of kokrokoo |
