NPP MP: Wereko-Brobbey Should Form His Own Political Party If...

NPP Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko has dared Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey to form his own party if he cannot comply with the constitutional provisions of the party.

According to him, it would be better for him to establish his party than publicly defy its tenets.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo, the NPP Stalwart wondered why Dr. Wereko-Brobbey would seemingly betray the party by his comments after they rallied support for him when he nursed interest to take up a position in the party some years ago.

He as a result called on him to hold his peace and use the appropriate channel within the party to address his concerns.

He explained that majority of the party leadership agreed on pursuing the petitioners’ claims of electoral malpractices in the law court and so, it is not apropos for anyone to dissent to the party’s position.

“90% said they will give it to this man. If you disagree, if you can’t accommodate; the better thing to do is to go and form your own...Once, the majority has decided to go that line, that becomes the official position.”

To him, Dr. Wereko Brobbey portrays himself as “the only person who knows. He is the only person with insight. He is the only person with foresight”, but “if he feels we are not his class,” then he should leave the party alone.

He therefore issued a strong-worded note to him, saying “we may even be wrong…But it is better for all of us to get together in these difficult times. I think it is arrogance. I think it is uncalled-for to pretend as if you alone know everything, you alone understand; you alone are a repository of wisdom. It is not done. It breaks the spirit of a group.”

Also, disclosing his once widely held disagreement for the choice of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as Running mate to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, 2012 Presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Agyarko however expressed gratitude to him for making a better decision for the party.

Even though he “disagreed. My whole body disagreed…Today, I always thank God that he got such a mindset”, he blurted out.
