Security Personnel Should Step Up With Their Investigations On Market Fires - Allotey Jacobs

The Central Regional Communication Director of the National Democratic Congress, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has called on security agencies to step up their game in tracing the perpetrators of the Makola fire and other fire outbreaks across the country.

He urged the security services to step ahead of the arsonists in order to avert further occurrences of fires in various markets.

Assessing the spate of fire outbreaks under the Mahama administration, he suspected that the act might have been masterminded by detractors of the ruling party and therefore prayed the “security services to move one step ahead of these arsonists if there is. That there’s the need for us to protect the rest of our market. It is like our economic vibrancy is being destroyed.”

Speaking to Radio Gold on Wednesday, Allotey Jacobs averred that the perpetrators may be guided by some motives to derail the incumbent government and so, issued a word of caution to them to refrain from such actions.

He also admonished Ghanaians to be on their guard to prevent the perpetrators.

“We as citizens, we need to be part and parcel of our security network…Because at the end of the day, we are the losers and therefore there’s the need for us always to be on our guard.”
