Balado Manu: Arrest Of Suspected Arsonists Is Just A “Diversionary Tactic”

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo-Ano South Constituency, Hon. Stephen Kwaku Balado Manu says the arrest of two persons suspected to be behind the supposed arson at Kantamanto is only a hoax to divert the attention of Ghanaians.

It could be recalled that the Kantamanto market was gutted by fire some months ago, leading to the arrest of Fatau Ibrahim and Yakubu Tahiru aka Rasta who were accused of arson and detained in jail.

But according to him, government is doing ‘snowball’ politics with the issue in its bid to pull wool over the eyes of Ghanaians.

Speaking on Oman FM on Wednesday, Hon. Balado Manu said “those suspects who have been arrested including those that happened in Tema are all hoax. It is not the truth until someone proves empirically that it is true; that these people, beyond reasonable doubt were the arsonists and why they perpetrated such crime. As for me, I don’t believe it.”

To him, the suspicions and arrest were “all diversionary tactics” by government to ‘insult the intelligence’ of Ghanaians.
