Afari Gyan Is The Best...He's Human And Prone To Mistakes

The legendary Alexander Pope once said; "To err is human; to forgive, divine." This is interpreted as every human is prone to making mistakes but more importantly, it is how you forgive, that really matters.

A similar notion was expressed on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" by the Deputy Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo.

Reacting to the postponement of the District Assembly elections due to the Supreme Court order, Fred Agbenyo called on Ghanaians to appreciate the efforts by Dr. Afari Gyan to ensure a smooth running of Ghana's Electoral College system.

According to him, Ghanaians, particularly those who have since become so critical of the conduct of the Electoral Commission, should not erase the good works of Dr. Afari Gyan from their memory.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, he noted that Dr. Afari Gyan has since 1992 remained distinct and performed remarkable exploits as Electoral Commissioner.

"Ghana's elections could not have been smooth as it has since been but for the instrumental role of Dr. Afari Gyan at the Electoral Commission," Fred Agbenyo believed.

He therefore charged Ghanaians not to make capital gains out of his mistakes because he's no Angel.

“Really, we needed somebody of his caliber. A tough skinned person who can stand by what he believes in his conviction and what the thing is. That does not mean he doesn’t listen…I think so far Dr. Afari Gyan has really distinguished himself and like I said, he is human and prone to mistakes."
