Run The Change In You

The first ever biggest marathon competition in the sub-region is to be hosted by Ghana this year 2015. Thousands of both local and international marathoners are expected to run a 21 Km and 5 Km stretch marathon across the capital city.

Running presents a person with an avalanche of opportunities that helps to strengthen the bones and marrow, muscles and joints, the body and mind. 

Running has been proven to be an efficient way of exercising the body. It burns out a ton of calories, tones the body and aids runners to gain stamina. Running has profound rewards. Research has shown that runners or marathoners stand a chance to decrease their risk of diabetes, depression and cardiovascular diseases.

Running a marathon ensures an efficient flow of blood and oxygen throughout the runner's body and is a good way of reducing the risk of heart attacks.

Several marathon runners train to strengthen their bones, heart, muscles and burn thousands of calories. This kind of exercise has an undisputable track record of reducing blood pressures and helping to keep high cholesterol in check.

Aside the health benefits marathon runners enjoy, marathons also help to boost tourism and is another venue for generating revenue for the country.

Training for marathon serves one with an exclusive opportunity to visit new city or country. So, countries benefit a lot when particularly they host marathon competitions due to the influx of runners that throng the streets and explore the length and breadth of the country.

This is why the Millennium Marathon Sports International is bringing to the delight of thousands of marathoners in the country for the first-time in the history of Ghana Sports; Ethiopian marathon Legend; Haile Gebrselassie.
