A civil society group of the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church at Airport West in Accra has pledged support for the establishment of a new site for the Eye of The Lord Orphanage at Otoase.

Despite attempts by the queen mother and some people to devastate the lives of over 60 children living in terrible conditions at the Eye of the Lord Orphanage, some concerned citizens of the nation have been offering help to set up proper housing structures and educational facility for the children.

When UTV and Peacefmonline.com released footages about the living conditions of the children at Otoase, there has been massive support from the general public to ensure that the children grow up to become responsible leaders of the nation.

During an inspection to the Orphanage and the new site, the group expressed worry over the children's condition and hoped there will be more donors on board to ensure that "within three months, the children will have somewhere to sleep and will have better education.”

“We can see Heads of States. We can see lawyers amongst the children. We will do everything. We have our children in the house. We know how we live with our children...What we saw on television and what we have seen now, we do believe that this project is going to go on and on, and we will have other donors.”

The group from the Mary Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church led by Mr. Cecil Gabrah, President, Madam Sylvia Asiedu, leader of the women wing and Emmanuel Hottor were happy to be part of the project.

“We’re very happy to see this project. We’ve gone to see the other site which was in a very bad situation. In fact, I didn’t really believe it. I shared some very bad tears in actual fact. Whoever is behind this project, I do believe it’s in God’s hands. And for us as a church, we will do our possible best to support in every way to make sure that the children that we saw on television will come up and live like proper human beings," Mr. Gabrah told Peacefmonline.com.
