Managing
Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., says he never wants
to live on earth like Dr. Mensah Otabil, General Overseer of the
International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), who he claims, easily
chickens out when confronted with certain pronouncements he's made.
Speaking
on Radio Gold on Saturday, Mr. Pratt, who disclosed that two of his
brothers are Priests, refuted media reports that he accused the ICGC
General Overseer of suffering from high fever. He however, acknowledged
saying the source of Dr. Otabil’s recent premonition about the destiny
of the country may not be from God.
“I have never said that
Pastor Otabil is suffering from high fever. I’ve never said that. I’ve
never said that all Priests are suffering from high fever. How can I say
that? Two of my brothers are Priests. I come from the home of
Priests…So, I cannot say that,” he stated firmly.
Noting down
some previous remarks made by the renowned Man of God where he (Dr.
Otabil) could not come out boldly to defend his words when confronted,
he questioned the source of Dr. Mensah’s admonition to the nation to
pray.
“What I am saying is that I am not able to tell whether
Pastor Mensah Otabil’s feel or prophecy is coming from God.
Unfortunately, I am not like Mensah Otabil, I don’t run away from my
words. When I say something I stand by it…I have never run away from my
words,” he averred.
Mr Pratt, who stopped short of ‘swearing’
never in his lifetime to seek divine help from any religious leader who
tend to delude the congregation, vowed to only solicit assistance from
religious leaders who are honest, and from “a Pastor who can stand by
his words; a Pastor who does not seek to profit from the anxieties of
people. I want to need the services of a Pastor who loves his country,
who is not partisan. I want to seek assistance one day…from a Pastor
whose mission is not to amass wealth, from a Pastor whose true mission
is to be like Christ.” |
