The
NDC Communication Team Member, Stephen Atubiga, who was gaoled for
three days by the Supreme Court on contempt charges, says Ghanaians
should “brace themselves for a shock” when the Supreme Court gives its
final ruling on the ongoing election petition case.
Speaking to
Radio Gold on Monday in an interview, the NDC communicator urged
Ghanaians to accept the verdict in good faith, irrespective of the
direction it goes.
Though he believed the court’s decision will
shock the entire citizenry, he was however, optimistic it will be in the
interest of the nation.
He therefore appealed to all political
parties to comply with the ruling of the court and desist from making
comments that may scandalize the court.
“We have to let Ghanaians
have confidence in the judicial system. No political party should come
out and say, I don’t believe in the judges…The stubborn ones, when they
get to stand in front of those judges, they will see the little of the
mass destruction that will hit them,” he stressed.
He also wants to lead a crusade to “sensitize Ghanaians” to “respect the verdict.” |
