Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed has lambasted the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko for driving Charles Takyi Boadu away from the party's Communication Office on Wednesday.
Peacefmonline.com first hinted the public about the action taken by the NPP Chair against the Daily Guide reporter.
Charles Takyi Boadu was thrown out for reasons being that the Daily Guide newspaper has grown the penchant of attacking the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyapong and the National Chairman.
And the Chairman who could not tolerate his presence around him decided to pay him back in his own coin, though in a different fashion this time.
According to an eye-witness account, Takyi Boadu, in the company of some party faithfuls, was dialoguing with colleague journalists when the National Chairman entered in and questioned his presence in the office.
Reacting to the character of the NPP Chairman, the PNC Policy Analyst; Atik Mohammed advised Mr. Afoko to exercise restraint and develop a "large heart" as a leader to accommodate his critics.
He was of a strong view that as a leader, Paul Afoko will not always enjoy good publicity but there surely will be other people who will critique every move he makes.
“As Chairman of an opposition party, I’m sure you won’t get every person to please you but you look beyond the pettiness and look at the bigger picture. So, I appeal to the executives to change their disposition.”
To Atik, the NPP Chairman's outburst deserves to be condemned because "it was a very awful experience. It’s inappropriate for them to repeat it at any level, particularly in their impending elections.” |
