Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker has called on the appropriate State authorities of the pension scheme to account for the second tier pension contributions of the public sector workers.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Ade Coker expressed worry over the rate of strike actions by public workers in the country.
He denounced strike actions by public workers, stressing that such actions retard the progress of the economy and further advised critics to depoliticize the issues.
To him, the pensioners’ case is crucial and so, called upon the administrators to be transparent with the workers.
He therefore was of a strong view that the administrators cannot absolve it since it has been in administration for five years.
“You cannot run away from it…Because this country must move on. The strikes are retarding our progress.”
He therefore urged the authorities of the pension scheme to instantly reveal to the striking workers where their monies have been kept and the investments made on their contributions.
