Mahama Is Dishonest…He Governs By Mischief And Propaganda

Ernest Owusu Bempah, Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), says President John Mahama's pledge to make education free for Senior High School (SHS) students in the country will be a complete "mirage".

He insists it is purely a move to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

According to him, President Mahama is not committed to his promises and obviously his free education policy will backfire.

Speaking in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Owusu Bempah alluded to some manifesto promises by the President such as the construction of 200 schools across the nation amidst other plans to develop the country, which to him have all hit the rocks.

He also rehashed arguments that he (President Mahama) has made a U-turn to accept a project which he vehemently opposed prior to the 2012 elections and so, labeled him as very "dishonest and a propagandist."

To him, President Mahama's declaration of free SHS education for all students in the country is "absolutely beyond the bounds of human reasoning."

"For the President to go out there and make a U-turn on what he strongly opposed...tells you that the President is dishonest…he relies on propaganda and mischief to run this country,” he said.

He further stated emphatically that President Mahama's State of the Nation Address was just an "empty rhetoric…empty promises as usual…I think there was nothing fruitful about the State of the Nation Address. He didn’t even conclude on the full state of the nation where the economy is in a deplorable state. The Ghanaian people are suffering out of joblessness, bad leadership and bad government.”

Owusu Bempah also did not find the President amusing during his address believed he turned the house into a "comedy centre."

“We are being led as a country by a bunch of jokers…His demeanor as President…disregarding the Speaker of Parliament’s order and violating the laws of the country…tells me we’re being led by a bunch of lawless jokers.

“He was joking throughout the State of the Nation Address….and to cap it all the jokes were also not funny," he stated.
