The
Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight, Ken Kuranchie has slammed
government over the fast depreciation in the cedi as against the dollar
currency.
Speaking on Oman FM, Ken Kuranchie wondered how the
government would salvage the dwindling cedi if it still keeps to its
exorbitant spending spree.
He opined that the Mahama government
has done very little to revive the cedi and therefore found the actions
of the government unpardonable.
To him, though it is good for
religious leaders to offer prayers for the cedi to appreciate against
other major trading currencies, it will come to naught if the government
continues to lavishly expend the nation's money.
“..what the nation needs is not prayers but brain surgery for the cedi to catch up with the dollar,” he said.
Alluding
to the judgement debt saga involving certain government officials and
Ex-government players, Ken Kuranchie held strongly that the incumbent
government is being run somehow by "satanic hands".
“You take 52
million cedis (520 billion) and give it to a person like Alfred Agbesi
Woyome; it’s either you’re acting under satanic influences or rather
your brain has stopped to work.
“What we need is not prayer. We need brain surgery,” he told President John Dramani Mahama and his government.
