GOIL Filling Station Explosion: "The Deaths Were Needless" - Kyeremanteng Agyarko

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wougon, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko has called on city authorities to put pragmatic measures in place to end the perennial flood situations in the country.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko lashed out at city authorities and the Mahama administration for failing to avert the tragedy.

According to him, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) since its inception has done virtually nothing to prevent flooding, especially in the capital, despite their numerous promises of a better Ghana to the Ghanaian populace.

Reacting to the recent fire explosion at the GOIL filling station at Circle that claimed hundreds of innocent lives, Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko expressed disappointment in the NDC government because to him, the deaths could have been avoided.

These deaths were needless…They were unnecessary.”

He was further displeased that some government officials tend to blame the erstwhile Kufour government whenever issues of similar nature  are being discussed on political platforms.

Hon. Kyeremateng Agyarko asked the government to fix the situation since Ghanaians voted them into power and not the Kufour government.

He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and the entire nation for the unexpected loss of lives last Wednesday night.

What has happened is painful. If we could reverse the hand of time, we would all help to...avert such an occurrence. What did the people do? They were just seeking shelter…We express our condolences to the families and to ourselves but (Kwami) we must ask about what caused it. How did it happen and why?” a clearly angry Kyeremanteng Agyarko stated.
