"Sacrifice" Some People To Transform Ghana - NDC NEC Member Tells Gov't

NDC Deputy Communications Director, Fred Agbenyo has urged his government to take pragmatic steps to avert the perennial flooding in the country.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Fred Agbenyo strongly called on the Mahama administration not to relent on its pursuit to transform the nation.

According to him, there is no transformation that does not face opposition and so, it behoves on the government to overlook the obstacles hindering them.

Commenting on the recent floods that displaced several residents in Accra, Fred Agbenyo pressed on government to put precautionary measures in place even if it so demands that some sacrifices be made to safeguard the citizenry.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, the NDC Deputy Communications Director said; “In transforming a society and transforming people, no matter what you will step on some toes, you’ll clear some people, you’ll sacrifice some people before you can get the ideal environment and situation that you want to create. So, in our quest to do the right thing, if people threaten you that election time will draw near and so because you also want to win political power, we ignore the right thing that we are supposed to do; how would we manage the country?

“…if by doing the right thing for mother Ghana and as a consequence somebody says he will vote against you; so be it. Posterity will judge you.
