NPP Raid: Security Agencies Must Investigate To Redeem Their Integrity - Kweku Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has urged security agencies in the country to launch thorough investigations into the dawn raid that occurred on Monday at the Headquarters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM, Kweku Baako noted that the reputation of these agencies - Ghana Police and Ghana Armed Forces - is on the line if they fail to get to the bottom of the incident.

According to him, the NPP raid does not augur well for the security forces, particularly as Ghana heads towards the 2016 general elections.

To him, the security agencies should not let the perpetrators of the NPP raid off the hook but rather work hard to redeem their integrity.

“I am appealing to the Ghana Police and to a certain extent the Ghana Armed Forces to take this matter very seriously and ensure thorough professional investigations are conducted for us to come to the bottom of this matter. The issue of institutional integrity of the Police and to a limited extent, the Ghana Armed Forces; for that matter National Security is at stake. The confidence and the trust that parties and the public at large will have in these institutions is on the line, especially as we head towards election 2016. Because we need them as much as they need us,” he stated.
